HS 500 window sill bracket from BUG
The aluminium window sill bracket for outside
Product overview
Window sill bracket for thermal insulation composite systems, plaster & clinker facades
The HS 500 window sill bracket is adjustable in projection and angle and is equipped with a flexible clip articulated head. This allows the window sill bracket to be individually adjusted and the external window sill securely attached.
The flexible window sill bracket for outside
According to the guidelines, if the projection is 150 millimetres or more, a window sill bracket must be attached to stabilise the window sill against wind and other weather influences and to ensure that it is secured in position during the construction phase. The HS 500 window sill bracket from BUG is compatible with thermal insulation composite systems, clinker and plaster facades. Installation is simple: the window sill bracket is glued, screwed in or nailed.
The choice is yours: the insert and clip articulated head for the window sill bracket come in two colours

Benefits of the aluminium window sill bracket HS 500
Installation of the window sill bracket
No special tools are required to attach the HS 500 exterior window sill bracket. All you need is suitable screws or a compatible adhesive and the window sill bracket can be installed safely and easily in just a few steps.
It can be attached to the window sill quickly and easily using the clip articulated head. First, install the window sill using a window sill mounting template with a gradient of at least 5 degrees. Then install the window sill bracket: To do this, you have to pull the tensioned spigot out from under the installed window sill and hook the clip of the articulated head into the drip edge of the window sill. The window sill bracket is now attached and the window sill is secure.
When installing, follow the guidelines regarding the distances between the brackets and the edges.
FAQs about the HS 500 exterior window sill bracket
Would you like to find out more about window sill brackets? Find out more in the answers below or in our FAQS about window sill systems.
The window sill bracket should be installed on the side of the window sill edges at a distance of up to 400 millimetres. If the projection is 150 to 240 millimetres and the insulation thickness is less than 160 millimetres, a window sill bracket must be installed every 1,000 millimetres. If the projection is over 240 millimetres and the insulation thickness is 160 millimetres or more, the distance is reduced to 600 millimetres.
The HS 500 aluminium window sill bracket can be combined with all other window sill system components from the BUG System 500:
By the way: To connect several window sills – from a length of 3,000 millimetres – you should use a butt connector. This then assumes the function of the window sill bracket.
The window sill bracket is made of aluminium and is used to protect the window sill from wind and other weather influences and to stabilise it during the construction phase. For window sills that can be stepped on, further measures must be taken to provide a suitable substructure.
Thermally separated window sill brackets are used to prevent thermal bridges. They are particularly relevant for ETICS facades, as otherwise cold can penetrate the masonry and cause damage.
The HS 500 window sill brackets can provide thermal separation by installing sound-dampening strips or alternative material that is 10 millimetres or wider than the aluminium profile of the window sill bracket. The HS 500 bracket variants can be used for any type of facade without compromising energy efficiency.
