Find out moreSliding closures for window sills
Installed window sill end caps – such as the decoupled, multifunctional sliding closure A 500 V – reliably absorb the expansion of the window sill and, like the BUG aluminium window sill system itself, offer excellent UV resistance thanks to high-quality powder coatings or anodised surfaces.
An additional drainage layer provides long-lasting protection for the external thermal insulation composite facade (ETICS facade) and the masonry in general. This offers high energy savings as well as protection against heat loss and moisture ingress.

Window sills are available in various projections ranging from 50 mm to 400 mm. BUG supplies window sill systems in stock lengths of 6,000 mm with slotted holes on the screw plate. Window sills are installed with a maximum length of 3,000 mm. If the window element or facade is wider, the window manufacturer uses the aluminium corner connectors I 500 D and A 500 D, as well as the butt connector H 500 D. This allows window sill joints to be connected easily, quickly, and securely. This lets you customise your windows and facade easily and quickly.
Find out moreStability with a click: The HS 500 window sill bracket
To ensure that BUG aluminium window sill systems are securely fixed, window sill brackets are used to provide stable support. These prevent the window sill from slipping or sagging and ensure the required slope of at least 5°.
The HS 500 window sill bracket is the flexible solution for securely fastening external window sills – regardless of the facade system. Mounted with just one clip, it provides maximum stability and easy handling on site. Learn more about the benefits, smart technology and easy installation of the HS 500.

Quick and easy installation of the System 500
All installation and assembly accessories are included with the delivery of the BUG System 500 aluminium window sill system. A clear advantage of the BUG System 500: all products developed by BUG are tested as components within the system itself. The sliding closures, butt connectors and screw-on seal tested for water tightness under heavy rain sliding end pieces, along with the pillar recess extension, form a complete, installer-friendly and secure solution for simple and fast window sill installation.
Our tip: During the planning phase, make sure there is sufficient thermal insulation between the internal window sill and the external sill. Otherwise, a thermal bridge to the exterior may occur.
The System 500 protects against facade damage thanks to certified water tightness under heavy rain
Seals on the screw plate prevent the ingress of water and moisture. The BUG System 500 window sill system has been tested for water tightness under heavy rain. In addition, decoupled sliding closures compensate for thermal expansion of the window sill caused by sunlight and cold. These protect the facade and masonry from plaster tearing and brittle wall surfaces. Defects occur as a result of moisture damage and plaster shrinkage. Therefore, the masonry should be regularly checked for dryness.
The window sill, window and masonry must form a single unit. The system-wide integration of flawless water tightness under heavy rain provides the perfect seal for non-ventilated facades. All aluminium window sill systems from BUG have been tested for water tightness under heavy rain up to 1,950 Pa. When installing, ensure that the projection of the window sill extends between 30 mm and a maximum of 50 mm from the facade. Only then can the facade be protected against weather and environmental influences and the build-up of standing moisture be prevented.
