The decoupled window sill sliding closure A 500 V

The benefits of using a decoupled sliding closure profile such as the A 500 V are two-fold: they bring advantages prior to and during installation on site and after installation thanks to certified safety.

Quick and easy installation

The sliding closures are available in two different external widths to match the aluminium window sills: 24 mm und 34 mm. Using a standard circular saw, make the saw cut on the sliding profile of the edge piece on site for the roller shutter guide rails, then push the sliding profile back onto the EPDM plug-in profile. You can then install the sliding closure directly on the window sill.

Long-lasting protection for the facade

The window sill sliding closure cab be simply integrated into an ETICS facade. A specific drainage channel in the plug-in profile ensures controlled water drainage and thus offers long-term protection for the plaster or ETICS facade. The built-in A 500 V sliding closure safely absorbs the expansion of the window sill when it is hot.

Essential helper: safety clip for window sill sliding closure

Use the practical closure clamps to ensure that installation of the A 500 V is safe and reliable across all trades. The sliding closure is simply attached so that nothing can slip during the construction phase. This means that nothing will stand in the way of the plastering and paint work. Attach and clip on the clamp. Fastening is as easy as using a standard paper clip.

BUG window sill sliding closures in individual colours

The sliding end pieces are available in all colour variants – thermal paints are used to provide colour to surfaces (all standard RAL colours are available) or they can be coated using anodising technology. Our aluminium sliding closures in particular can thus be perfectly adapted to the facade. For transport and subsequent installation, the surface-refined window sills are optimally protected with a factory-applied film.

Practical accessories

The extensive range of accessories for aluminium window sills makes installation easier in various installation situations. The sliding closures can be combined with the H 500 D BUG window sill butt connector, which is watertight in heavy rain, and with the internal and external corner connectors I 500 D and A 500 D, each for a 90° and 135° corner.

Safe access

The BUG sill deck is also compatible with the window sill sliding closures; the deep grooves provide additional grip when stepping on the window sill, which is particularly important in wet and frosty conditions.

Tested and certified system

Safety, weather protection and design are the best reasons for installing window sill components as an all-in-one system. With the window sill system 500 from BUG, you get maximum flexibility for different window dimensions and building materials and you simultaneously benefit from a simple system that is easy to install.

The most important questions about window sill sliding closures

Would you like to find out more about sliding closure profiles? You can find detailed answers in our FAQs about window sill systems.

Yes, the window sill sliding closures from BUG are tested for water tightness under heavy rain. An additional advantage is that they also compensate for thermal expansion. It is crucial that the sliding closures are installed according to the instructions.

The successful use of ETICS systems requires the decoupling of neighbouring components. For this reason, only sliding closures are suitable for window sills, as they absorb all movements, even when there are temperature fluctuations or wind, so that the facade is never affected.
