Comparison of the A 450 and A 150 clinker end pieces
Choose a clinker end piece from the Standard or Softline Plus line to suit your window sill. The differences are shown in the table below. The most important factors here are the desired appearance (open or closed) and the functional requirements of the connection. Depending on the construction, it is important to consider whether a rigid closure is sufficient, or if a sliding function is needed to allow for movement.
The A 150 and A 450 clinker end pieces are used for traditional clinker, concrete and exposed brickwork facades. If the joint needs to allow for movement caused by thermal expansion, the sliding clinker end pieces A 830 GK and A 840 GK are the perfect solution.

For standard joints in prefabricated house constructions, ETICS closures and sliding closures are the ideal solution, such as the A 600 GS or A 500 V, or sliding clinker end pieces, such as the A 830 GK or A 840 GK. This is because the window sill connection allows for movement caused by thermal expansion. They are suitable for clinker and concrete facades, as well as exposed concrete facades. Depending on the design, they can also be fitted to plastered facades.
Installation of clinker end pieces on the window sill
Follow the general guidelines and standards to correctly install the clinker end pieces. If the composition has not been tested for water tightness under heavy rain, it is essential that a second level of sealing be installed. Please note that a 2-millimetre deduction measurement is required on each side.
If you are using sliding clinker end pieces (A 830 GK or A 840 GK), you will also need to allow for a deduction measurement of 9 mm on each side. To ensure that the sliding and seal functions work correctly, please follow the installation instructions in the data sheet.
FAQs about window sill clinker end pieces
Below you will find answers to the most important questions about the aluminium clinker end pieces from BUG. You can find more information on our FAQs about window sill systems.
As the name suggests, clinker end pieces are used for clinker facades, but also for concrete facades and other exposed brickwork. The difference between these and plaster closures is that the masonry is not plastered after the clinker end piece has been installed.
A sliding clinker end piece is recommended for accommodating additional movement at the window sill joint, such as that caused by thermal expansion. BUG combines a clean finish with a sliding function for a sleek look. The integrated spring mechanism in the neutral position holds and centres the clinker end piece, thus supporting safe and simple installation.
Clinker end pieces have been tested and verified to be watertight under heavy rain to 1,950 Pascal. The prerequisite is installation in accordance with the guidelines and the use of a DFT 40 shaped gasket piece. A second level of sealing is also required.
The A 150 and A 450 clinker end pieces can be combined with other components for window sills from BUG:
To attach the clinker end piece, tension-free installation on the structure and brickwork is required. A trough-shaped design can only be achieved using a DFT 40 shaped gasket piece to ensure water tightness under heavy rain. A second level of sealing is recommended.
When attaching clinker end pieces, you should ensure that all components have elastic and sealing properties. This ensures tension-free installation.
