Standard and guideline-compliant verge cladding from BUG manufactured in Germany

30-01-2024 | BUG Aluminium-Systeme (BUG) develops coordinated components for quick and easy installation of verge cladding. The BUG system components for flat roof systems offer an installation design that complies with standards and guidelines. The verge cladding is manufactured at the BUG production facilities in Germany.

Ideally, roof edge profiles, also known as verge cladding, should provide support and protect the edge area, while blending in visually with the overall appearance. The ever-increasing technical demands present new challenges for all trades during the installation process. For this reason, simple, practical and safe product and system solutions are becoming increasingly important for building trades.

Flat roof edges from BUG also protect the edge area from the effects of the weather and form a structural unit with the roof cladding. Due to their exposed position on the upper edge of the building, they are clearly visible. In particular, aluminium verge cladding is becoming increasingly popular. The robust profile systems are available with the desired surface finish, allowing them to be customised to match the architecture of the facade.

As a system-oriented solution provider in the field of flat roof systems, BUG fulfils its orders by offering a technically sophisticated, state-of-the-art solution concept for the installation of verge cladding. Thanks to its automatic storm protection and high stability, which is achieved by extruding up to 300 millimetres of the aluminium cover, the OV 2000 verge cladding is particularly impressive. Thanks to specially positioned drip strips, this verge cladding offers high overflow protection. These factors ensure the building is safe and secure, especially in view of the changing environmental influences, thanks to professional flat roof installation.

The OV 2000 is characterised by a height-adjustable, swivelling joint bracket that can be used to react flexibly to changes in the construction of the roof edge area. At the same time, the bracket ensures quick and easy installation as well as lasting safety. This verge cladding reliably absorbs the thermal expansion and contraction of aluminium cladding. In addition, the OV 2000 is compatible with all standard roof sealants up to 5 millimetres thick. This product fulfils several key installation requirements and is the ideal choice for straightforward, secure installation that complies with standards and guidelines.

According to manufacturer BUG, the OV 2000 verge cladding stands out thanks to its sleek design and durable, recyclable material. This means long-lasting safety and high-quality products that can be sustainably recycled in an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly way. Thanks to its intelligent system design, the high-quality aluminium roof edge profile guarantees not only a long service life, but also the sustainability and efficient value of the building. The components can be dismantled into their individual parts easily and in an environmentally friendly way. Separation into aluminium and plastic is possible. Because the plastic components are not firmly attached to the aluminium profile, they can be returned to the economic cycle quickly. Even during the production of verge cladding, such as the OV 2000, the focus is on the material’s recycled content and the energy source to be used. The extruded roof edge profiles are produced exclusively from recycled aluminium sourced from the EU — specifically Germany and Austria — using 100% green electricity and gas. In addition, all manufacturing and processing of the profiles takes place at German locations. All of this demonstrably helps to reduce the carbon footprint and promote sustainability in construction.
