EPDM screw-on seal for secure window sill seals from BUG
According to the guidelines, window sills must be securely and correctly attached to the window frame. Specialist companies thus ensure water tightness under heavy rain and at the same time increase the durability of the window construction. Slightly compressed sealing tape or EPDM seals can be used as required.
Securely attached, tested screw-on seal
The AD 500 screw-on seal for window sills has been tested and certified, and can be used to securely attach aluminium window sills to the window frame. It ensures dimensional accuracy and water tightness under heavy rain. If installed correctly, no rainwater can penetrate. The flush closure between the window sill and frame ensures that water drains away along a defined path. A combination of a window sill screw-on seal made of EPDM material, a second sealing level and a trade hole prevents damage to the masonry and the penetration of moisture through the insulation.
According to the manufacturer, BUG’s optimised screw-on seal can withstand high temperature fluctuations and adverse weather conditions. The EPDM seal compensates for unevenness in the substrate due to contact pressure. The AD 500 screw-on seal can be installed on window sills of up to 3 metres in length without the need for additional adhesives or sealants. This ensures that the window sill accessories are securely and permanently connected. Thanks to the 40-metre-long continuous storage containers, processors can easily cut the material to size on site. Thanks to the permanently adhesive sealing tape, window sills can be installed quickly, easily and stably, ensuring sustainable and valuable construction.
Easy installation
Due to its ease of installation, reliable water tightness under heavy rain can be achieved in critical areas with little effort for recessed and flush installation. The AD 500 screw-on seal incorporates an EPDM seal with permanently self-adhesive sealing tape, allowing for quick and easy assembly and installation. Find out how to install the screw-on seal correctly, step by step, from a specialist company.
Follow these steps to fit the screw-on seal correctly:
Using a suitable tool, cut the AD 500 screw-on seal to the exact length of the window sill, including the window sill edge.
Remove the protective film from the adhesive sealing tape on one side by approx. 100 millimetres. Tip: Turn the protective film upwards.
Position the drip edge of the screw-on seal on the screw plate of the window sill, hold the seal firmly and press down.
Gradually remove the protective film from the adhesive sealing tape and press the screw-on seal firmly over the entire window sill screw-on bar.
Check that the screw-on seal is correctly positioned.
The window sill can then be installed.
Note: The trade hole must always be sealed to ensure water tightness under heavy rain.
