EPDM screw-on seal for secure window sill seals from BUG

According to the guidelines, window sills must be securely and correctly attached to the window frame. Specialist companies thus ensure water tightness under heavy rain and at the same time increase the durability of the window construction. Slightly compressed sealing tape or EPDM seals can be used as required.

Securely attached, tested screw-on seal

The AD 500 screw-on seal for window sills has been tested and certified, and can be used to securely attach aluminium window sills to the window frame. It ensures dimensional accuracy and water tightness under heavy rain. If installed correctly, no rainwater can penetrate. The flush closure between the window sill and frame ensures that water drains away along a defined path. A combination of a window sill screw-on seal made of EPDM material, a second sealing level and a trade hole prevents damage to the masonry and the penetration of moisture through the insulation.

Easy installation

Follow these steps to fit the screw-on seal correctly:

Step 1: Cut the seal to size

Using a suitable tool, cut the AD 500 screw-on seal to the exact length of the window sill, including the window sill edge.

Step 2: Remove the film

Remove the protective film from the adhesive sealing tape on one side by approx. 100 millimetres. Tip: Turn the protective film upwards.

Step 3 – Position the seal

Position the drip edge of the screw-on seal on the screw plate of the window sill, hold the seal firmly and press down.

Step 4 – Remove and press on the film

Gradually remove the protective film from the adhesive sealing tape and press the screw-on seal firmly over the entire window sill screw-on bar.

Step 5 – Check the position

Check that the screw-on seal is correctly positioned.

Step 6 – Install the window sill

The window sill can then be installed.

Note: The trade hole must always be sealed to ensure water tightness under heavy rain.
