New glass support for vertical glazing with wood-aluminium frames

The new glass support from BUG can be used universally in wood-aluminium and wood window construction. Thanks to its adjustable, latching depth, the glass support is suitable for multiple glazing. The glass support provides offset compensation for flush sash frames, balancing the difference in height between the glazing rebate and the aluminium frame profile. The glass support consists of three parts: the base block; the load transfer; and the glass thickness extension. Thanks to the fine corrugation, it is easy to adjust the distance between the load transfer to the base block and the extension of the glass thickness. This glass support can be used with BUG wood-aluminium systems for multiple glazing, independently of the system.

This flexible, latching glass support from BUG allows glazing to be supported in the glazing rebate with no constraints. This creates the optimum distribution of the glass weight in the window and sash frames. At the same time, the glass support facilitates rebate ventilation and vapour pressure equalisation within the wood-aluminium window. When installed correctly, the opening elements function perfectly, and the BUG glass support successfully prevents individual panes of glass in the assembly from sinking.

The BUG glass support has a high compressive strength and can be used with glass up to 60 millimetres thick. The injection-moulded part with a grid function enables the optimum glazing depth to be set, depending on the thickness of the glass. BUG glass supports ensure a constant temperature and resistance to ageing for the window. In addition, optimising the latching bar systems ensures they have a high load-bearing capacity. The material of the glass support has been tested to ensure it is compatible with common glazing sealants in the area where they will come into contact. BUG thus promotes sustainable construction and renovation, especially of wood-aluminium and wood windows.
