New school and day care centre in Munich

The new school and day care centre in Munich was completed in 2020, covers an area of 2,600 m² and was designed by Köhler Architekten. The main entrance area provides access to the school and day care centre in several small steps, where around 100 bicycle parking spaces and access to the school kitchen are located. To the west is a planted area with emergency exits and access to the caretaker's flat.

The open space of the day care centre consists of a continuous lawn area with play equipment and a spacious terrace. The central playground area is widened towards the south and forms a continuous unit together with the sports field and the running track. The school classes on the south side of the new building have access to class gardens, which can be reached directly from the 1st floor via a staircase. The school building can be reached from the west via the loggia, where the teachers' car park and the caretaker's outbuildings are also located. The new building and all outbuildings have a green roof, which contributes to the sustainability of the project.
